OMG, OMG, OMG!!! According to GameSpot, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is set to be released on Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) and Playstation Network (PSN) by the end of June.
That's very good news, especially for the people who've been with it since the 'ol Dreamcast days. Man, do I miss my old Dreamcast, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and the original arcade stick.
Check out the GameSpot video; the MvC2 portion starts at a little after 11:30.
In my eyes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is like the Starcraft of fighting games. As we all know, Starcraft is one of, if not the best RTS game ever made, period. MvC2 is kind of like that, but in the fighting genre.
Even more amazing - try finding a copy of MvC2 for the Playstation 2 or Dreamcast. You'll wind up paying about $50 because they are that rare and still that sought out for.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is all about fast game play. What looks like button mashing are actually extremely coordinated and timed combos that no nub could dare pull off. Here's one of the more intense videos of two incredible professional players:
Even if you didn't know what the hell you just saw, you can't tell me that wasn't awesome! One player, Justin Wong, was getting whooped.
Wong was on his last character (you get to pick three) and his opponent had all of three of his own left. Then, using Cyclops alone, Wong was able to defeat three characters, in a row. What a prime example of awesome.
