Using Smartphone As Carputer Keyboard/Mouse Input With GRemote

I’ve been looking for a program like GRemote for a very long time. GRemote allows you to use your smartphone’s touchscreen and hardware keyboard to control a PC. For carputer users, I’d say this is one of the best options for keyboard and mouse input.

No more bulky IR keyboards, no more drained batteries, and best of all, GRemote is free. The next best option for carputer input would be a device like the Logitech diNovo Mini, but the thing costs more than my carputer motherboard, CPU, and memory combined!

Here’s a video of GRemote in action controlling my carputer. Basically, I’m using the touchscreen on my phone as a mouse touchpad. Then, when I slide the keyboard open, the program automatically changes to keyboard/mouse input. I like using my phone much better than a wireless keyboard/mouse combination because the phone hardly takes up any space. I’d have to put the keyboard/mouse somewhere when not in use, which is about 95% of the time.

Not only does using your smartphone as a keyboard replacement save space, as you can see, it also works incredibly well. You don’t have to plop down $150 for a Dinovo Mini when you can make one out of your smartphone for free!
