Google Sync has finally arrived in beta. This great service lets you sync your phone’s contacts and calendar events to your Google account. With Windows Mobile phones, you don’t even need to install an application. Google basically created their own Exchange server which you can use to sync your calendar and contacts. All you need to do is setup Google in your ActiveSync settings and you’re good to go.

Google Sync is currently supported on the following platforms:

After your items are synced, you can view/edit your contacts in your Gmail account and see your calendar events in Google calendar. Really handy when you’re moving across different computers throughout the day and would like everything synced in one place.

Outlook users can use Google Calendar Sync to synchronize your Outlook calendar with Google Calendar.

Thunderbird users can use the Lightning extension paired with Provider for Google Calendar to sync your calendar events. Now you don’t have to worry about syncing multiple calendars and can access your calendar from the internet since everything is in one place!
