Circuit City Liquidation Taking Advantage Of The Masses

By now, almost everybody has heard of the Circuity City liquidation “sales”. However, many people do not know what is going on behind the scenes.

Circuit City has absolutely no control over the liquidations in all of its stores. Instead, it is the liquidators set the sales prices to bring in every penny they can. This means marking up every item to MSRP (or higher) and then slapping on minuscule percentage discounts. The combination of percentage discounts combined with the flashy red and yellow liquidation signs gives the illusion that the consumer is saving money, when in reality, they are not.

As if this practice wasn’t questionable enough, the liquidators had to take this one step further. Not only are they marking up prices, they are also introducing MORE inventory as a part of the “liquidation” sales. Basically, the liquidators are trying to take advantage of the consumers who think they are saving money.

Look at all those printers! Before the liquidation, these printers were nowhere to be found! Also, look at the ridiculously high prices after “discount”.

circuit city bogus stands

Here’s yet another example of Circuit City deception. These TV stands are in a showroom, which was empty the previous week I was there. Wait, is this a liquidation or what? I hope people don’t buy into this BS. Even at an advertised “50% off”, the sales prices are still pretty crappy.

Where do you get your info? The company has to empty the distribution centers of merchandise already owned as of the start of the liquidation. The court did not authorize additional goods. About five minutes of research and anyone can research of the facts. But then again, anyone can also pull “facts” out of their a-hole, like you did.

maybe the porblem is not that they buy more, but they have it stored in the depot.

Jim – Looks like I was a little unclear and you assumed a little. “they are also introducing MORE inventory”. By that, I meant more inventory to each of the stores, not more inventory for CC as a whole. I just though it was kinda messed up because they wait until the “up to %” goes higher, therefore people think they are saving more, so they introduce more inventory to each individual store to take advantage of the psychological change in the consumer’s mind.
